BAHA (Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid)

The Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) is used for individuals who suffer from bone conduction hearing loss, mild to moderate combined hearing loss or unilateral deafness.
The BAHA is also used in cases of auricular atresia (no or hardly any external auditory canal structures). The sound conduction that conventional hearing aids provide is therefore blocked or completely impossible, and their function greatly compromised or totally prevented. A suitable sound processor is chosen depending on the extent of the individual’s hearing loss: BAHA 5, BAHA 5 Power or BAHA 5 Super Power.

The implant is a titanium prosthesis which is fixated in the bone behind the ear (Baha Attract = magnetic connection, Baha Connect = abutment connection). The titanium anchor holds the sound processor in place and transmits the sound waves to the skull bone.
